Our Club welcomes the public to visit our clubhouse during a Thursday evening workshop, to see if this is the hobby for you. See the phone number below to call. It provides an opportunity to meet club members, to ask questions and to gauge how you feel about the club and what it can provide for you. Also, it offers a point of reflection on how you may want to become involved in our club and give back to this club, once becoming a member. There are a few brochures you can pick up during your first visit to our clubhouse.

Valuations

Members of the Toowoomba Lapidary Club are NOT qualified to provide valuations of gems, jewellery or minerals.

The following people have notified the Toowoomba Lapidary Club that they are available to provide identification and/or valuation services of items. Please contact them directly and mention the Toowoomba Lapidary Club. Also be aware these are commercial services provided by qualified professionals and fees may apply.

Cutting rocks and gemstones for the public

Quite often, members of the public ask for someone in the Toowoomba Lapidary Club to cut their rock, or cut gemstones they have found or were found by family members. Due to the overwhelming number of requests, most Lapidary club members are no longer available to undertake this activity.

While WE might not cut your stone for you, the other option is for YOU to become a member of the Toowoomba Lapidary Club and learn how to cut it for yourself.

We are hobbyists; we are not professional cutters. If we take on a job of cutting for the public and it is not cut as expected, we could expose ourselves to liability problems, which we are not prepared to do.
